Fray David Moreno, an essential part of the Moreno family and coffee producer in Urrao, Antioquia, is renowned for his farm, El Rosal, located in the picturesque valley of the Pavon River, in the La Despensa neighborhood. Thanks to the exceptional quality of his coffee and the premiums obtained for it, Fray has achieved signicant improvements on his property, including the construction of a modern benecio (processing station) and the renovation of his family home.
Urrao is composed of a set of valleys high up in the north west of Antioquia. Its altitude and conditions give it a unique microclimate where the variety Chiroso has been grown for the past 20 years. This variety seems to be a spontaneous mutation of caturra, yet the beans are more elongated and its prole has a oral touch that differentiates it from normal caturra. This lot is made up of coffee from 20 different producers in this valley of Urrao.
We roast on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and to ensure the best tasting coffees, orders received after Monday may not be processed or shipped until the following week.
